A Dino-Mite Christmas Card!

A Dino-Mite Christmas Card!

Don’t judge me too harshly when I say I’ve been planning this year’s Christmas card since last year. Not every day alright, just on and off occasionally. Saying that I hopefully haven’t built them up too much. The card has gone through quite a few edits and completely new starts in those 12 months. This one I think they’re hilarious! I’ve laughed and laughed about them. My ultra unattractive double chin inducing laugh.

It all started with a pun and a dream. The base was some stock photos. Then I used GIMP to construct and colour the bare bones of my card. I don’t use GIMP often enough to remember how to use it but it’s alright. Just takes a bit more time and maybe a few expletives to get back in the hang of it. Pretty fun actually like a digital colouring book.

It’s a Tree Rex! Get it? TREE Rex! You get it, I’ll stop. If you want your own punny card here is a link to the pdf. Just print double-sided et voila!

I mean one option would be to not cut these and send out these double the fun cards! Or cut them in two like a normal person.

Here is where the envelope conundrum became apparent. I had a bunch of cards with no envelopes. None of the multipacks of envelopes were the proper size. I considered buying a pack of cards with envelopes from the dollar store but then I would still have an uneven card to envelop ratio. Maybe I could make envelopes with printer paper? No, no I could not. It was a disaster. In a moment of desperation, I just decided to use the big stack of paper bags I had at home. They look kinda like envelopes right?

There is something so special about receiving letters in the mail. It makes my heart happy that sending Christmas cards is part of my tradition now. Also, I frikin love coming up with quirky, funny and weird cards to send out. Side note any chance to incorporate a dinosaur into something is something I can get behind. If you signed up for a Christmas card I hope you enjoy it! I know I enjoyed making it.

Happy Holidays!
