Seattle + MOPOP in One Day

Seattle + MOPOP in One Day

Will I go to great lengths to not have to drive in Seattle? Yes, yes I will. I did it once after an ice/snowstorm and it scarred me for life. However, my best friend and I were both incredibly dedicated to visiting the LAIKA exhibit at the Museum of Pop Culture. So, I hopped my butt on a bus for a fun-filled Seattle + MOPOP day.

University of Washington Seattle + MOPOP

We were a little early and my friend was a little late (A Tesla debacle that does not need to be re-hashed here.) We got into some shenanigans around the University of Washington campus.

Dicks Burger Seattle Burger + Fries and Coke

The first stop was lunch because everyone was hangry but trying really hard not to show it. I’ve never been to Dicks before and it was just alright. Shout out to the crushed ice in the pop because that was lovely. If you’re eating on a budget it’s a great option.

Then on to the main event! LAIKA!!!!!! (You know, and the rest of the museum) I love LAIKA movies so much! (I’ve made more than a few projects based on their movies) So this exhibit was pure magic to me. To get to see the actual puppets and see all the teenie tiny details on every costume was amazing.

There were also exhibits on Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and Horror that had movie props and these crazy vampire faux-stained glass windows. Very cool to see it all. Really the only thing I didn’t love in this museum was the gift shop. I expected to bankrupt myself but the gift shop was a bit meh. My wallet rejoices.

Barnes and Noble Seattle

My wallet weeps. We then went to Barnes and Noble where money was spent… much money was spent. So much money the border agent side-eyed me when she saw our declaration card. In my defence I couldn’t leave behind the Laura Thalassa signed books and B&N exclusive books! They wanted to come home with me.

Chiptole for dinner in Seattle

Then we grabbed a quick dinner and headed back to get the bus home! Altogether it was such a fun day trip to Seattle. Not something I would do all the time but as a special treat it was wonderful!

Do you like day-tripping to Seattle? What are your must-see places there? More importantly, what are your must-eat places?!

Happy Travels
