Bookish Cups of Tea

Bookish Cups of Tea

Yes, yes you already know I love reading but you might not know I also LOVE tea. Most days I will have 3-5 cups of tea. Usually, I am just drinking Tetley Black tea of a Jasmin tea I get in a huge box from T&T. However while I was on vacation my friend and I went to Barnes & Noble to spend way too much money. There they had Agatha Christie-themed tea from Harney and Sons. I adore Hercule Poirot and as we already established I was there to spend $$$ so I bought it! I wasn’t too bothered if I liked the tea or not I just loved the tin and figured I could empty it and use it as decoration. However, the tea is wonderful and it’s been the bright spot in some tough days this past couple of weeks. This inspired me to pass along the love and share some wonderful bookish cups of tea!

Harney & Sons – Agatha Christie

Ah, the one that started it all. Harney and Sons actually have two Agatha Christie teas (Not sure how I managed to hold myself back and only buy one). I can’t vouch for the Death on the Nile blend but Murder on the Orient Express is a smokey almost Earl Grey-tasting tea. I adore it.

NovelTeas – Jane Austen + Others

If you love a good pun this is the bookish cup of tea company for you! I was doing that awkward cackle/wheeze laugh reading through this website. (Don Quixotea and Pippi Oolong Stockings are my favourites) I have a tin of the Pemberly Pu-erh that my lovely mother bought for me but I haven’t yet brewed myself a cup. If hilarious literary tea puns were not enough this company also sells their tea in tins shaped like books. All-around wins in my mind.

Fly Paper Products – Shakespeare + Others

I *almost* impulse-bought a few tins from this company while I was killing time in an airport. Something about being sad and waiting for a flight makes me feel like spending money. Somehow I held myself back but I’ve been thinking about it ever since. Perhaps when I’ve drunk all my Poirot Tea I’ll buy a tin from Fly Paper Products. The design of this packaging is a lot less in-you-face bookish. You may find that better or worse but I like these juicy florals. I especially want to try the Midsummer Night’s Dream tea!

New English Teas – Beatrix Potter + Lewis Carroll

New English Teas might not have a lot of bookish teas (They have two Authors) but what they lack in quantity they more than make up for in quality! I adore these cute little World of Peter Rabbit tins. I kinda want them all but I am trying to hold myself back. These would look just darling on your table for a springtime tea party.

Another great place with lots of different bookish tea options! My favourite is the Bram Stoker tin! I am curious if anyone has tried some of their teas. Let me know!

The Moomin Shop – Moomin Valley

blue square tin of tea with moomin designs

I feel like I need to confess I have not yet read any Moomin books. My dad had his copies on the shelf from when he was a kid and how can you not fall in love with them just based on the illustrations? As you can probably guess from a shop called The Moomin Shop they only sell Moomin teas. But they are all so darling!

Plenty of bookish cups of tea

I know what the caption says but really I found another five or so bookish teas. It just felt excessive to put them all in one blog post. Have to keep some secrets up my sleeve… that is until I write another one.

Happy sipping! Let me know if you’ve tried any of these!
