Best of November 2021
This list is coming out late, normally I would have some kinda of apology but I’m not going to do that today. To make a long story short a family member was hospitalized and we were all worried for them. While I think sometimes in difficult situations it is really important to switch your focus to the positive this wasn’t one of those times. I felt it was really important to honour my feelings and be honest about the situation that was happening. I wasn’t going to force myself into a false positivity when that was so far from how I was feeling. Now that things have calmed down I feel ready to share these things with you! The list is shorter than some other months but there you go. Please enjoy my best of November 2021.
BEST NINETIES NOSTALGIA
If you grew up in the 90’s you know the Beanie Baby hype, you probably even remember the ones you owned and loved. Anyone else always look to see if they could find one that shared your birthday? Because I sure did! This glass artist named Christopher Aidala-Turner made stained glass Beanie Babies! I love this juxtaposition of beautiful stained glass being used to make a Beanie Baby. It tickles me.

BEST JEWELRY OF NOVEMBER 2021
Instagram really blessed me with this one. I am so enamoured with these up-cycled ceramic necklaces! They look so smooth and lovely! Unfortunately there is some issue with the website so I have no idea how much these pieces go for. If I had to make a guess I would say much more than I could spend. Regardless it’s so intriguing to see old plates and mugs become wearable pieces.

Ok, so I think this is one of the funniest things I have ever seen. It has provided me most of the joy I’ve felt this entire month. Seriously I watch it all the time! I should say maybe don’t get your hopes up because every other person I have shown it to did not think it was funny at all. So, proceed with low expectations.
BEST MUG OF NOVEMBER 2021
As we are approaching the end of the year I am realizing just how many of these lists include mugs. I have simple wants it seems and a new mug makes me happy. These mugs are made by my wonderful ex-coworker who makes beautiful pottery. It gives me vintage Jetsons vibes and it makes my morning tea delightful!
BEST SKILL OF NOVEMBER 2021
I drive around seemingly prepared for things. I have a jack and jumper cables in my trunk. Have I used them? No, not really. Do I know how to use them? No, not really. But the opportunity arose! My dads battery was dead and so he we jumped his car with the jumper cables I’ve been driving around with for ages. Yay! Do I feel confident to be in charge? No, not really but I’m making progress.

Can’t tell you exactly why but these ‘crystal confetti’ videos calm my soul. I have spent close to an hour just watching these TIKTOKs. I can’t stop they are just so delightful. When I was the kid that brought rocks home from everywhere we went because I was obsessed. In some ways this feels like a natural progression. BEST ACQUISITION OF NOVEMBER 2021
Without Robin in our lives anymore our other cat Bruce was getting depressed and bored. It was really sad watching him being so alone. (shh don’t tell anyone but he is now a bit of a TV addict because we would put it on for him while we were all at work) My sister found this little kitten on the BCSPCA website and we adopted him. Took awhile for these two polar opposites to get used to each other. Now they are super close and spend a lot of time cuddled up in their favourite spot together.
There we go, my best of November 2021. I hope you enjoy it and I hope you allow yourself the grace to not force ‘being positive’ on yourself. Know when to push through the bad feelings and know when to sit with them.
