Adventures of someone that loves food but can’t cook. I would describe myself as more a scavenger than a hunter/ gatherer. This worked fine for me in my teenage years because I would just eat leftovers or food my parents made. Now that I am an adult I feel a huge embarrassment that I can’t cook for myself. It feels like a critical life skill and I was so far behind others in learning. (Look I didn’t take any Home Ec courses in a misguided feminist stance.) For years I just wallowed in self-pity because there was no way I could learn how to cook. Then it occurred to me; There is an entire industry that makes books and tv shows that teach people how to cook. Sounds dumb but this was such a mind bottling moment for me! There are other people who can’t cook! More than that there wasn’t any reason why I couldn’t learn how to feed myself delicious and nutritious food. If you, like me, don’t feel like a perfect hostess who can whip up a gourmet meal but you’d like to start taking some baby steps in that direction then follow along on this journey!
